The Secret and The Miracle of Water
A nuclear missile exploding, a black hole, or a super nova, all of these things are very powerful, but think about your mind and your thoughts. Your mind is thought to be a driving force in nature; it can change everything around, both The Secret and Masaru Emoto say, if not something very similar, the same thing. The Secret tells of an all-powerful tool, that successful individuals have used throughout time, and that is your feelings and thoughts. Emoto’s research also points to one main thing controlling the make up of water, and that is thoughts. With our body being made up of 70 percent of water, it is clear that when you are in a good mood, the water in your body will be formed by those feelings, causing your whole body to feel great. But this also means when you are down and sad that the water molecules will change to that as well. The Secret and Emoto are basically one of the same in that thoughts control the things around you.
Masaru Emoto, the main researcher and writer of The Miracle of water, graduated from the Yokohama Municipal University while he studied International Relations. In 1992 he received certification from Open International University as a doctor of alternative medicine. While there Emoto was introduced to the concept of micro cluster water and magnetic resonance analysis. His work with water crystals has changed the way people think . . . about thinking. Emoto’s water crystal experiment is intriguing; he took samples from many different locations, and looked under a microscope to see the structure of the water crystals. He first collect water from pristine mountain streams, where little to know pollution had occurred, to polluted water. His tests evolved from being that of finding water and comparing them, to exploring what would happen if the water had love, hate, sadness, and many other feelings. His experiment showed that the test water that had love, happiness, and various others brighten your day feelings had water crystals that had a geometric and snowflake like shape to them. “Beautiful words have beautiful, clear vibrations. But negative words put out ugly . . . Language is not something artificial, but rather is something that exists naturally. I believe that language is created by nature” (Emoto, Masaru). While the horrible feelings, hate, sadness, I will kill you, all had similar structures to that of polluted water. “This principle is what I think makes swearing and slang words destructive. These words are not in accordance with the laws of nature. So, for example, I think you would probably find higher rates of violent crime in areas where a lot of negative language is being used” (Emoto, Masaru) His research showed that when water was exposed to feelings, they changed accordingly, that thoughts control the make-up of the things around you, and they can also change water molecules for the good or the bad.
Simple but powerful, this one phrase can describe the Secret. Rhonda Byrne’s movie explains the law of attraction, and how to use it in everyday life. The Secret seems simple enough, write it out or say it, believe in it, and receive it, three basic steps to using the Secret; however caution should be used with it. Although you can receive anything that is desired you can have a multitude of horrible things happen to you. The Secret works both ways when you think fun and happy thoughts, good things will happen to you, but if sadness or madness sets into the body, the events to follow will also be the same way. “You have two sets of feelings: good feelings and bad feelings, and you know the difference between the two because one makes you feel good, and the other makes you feel bad. It’s the depression, it’s the anger, it’s the resentment, and it’s the guilt. It’s those feelings that don’t make you feel empowered. Those are the bad feelings” (Nichols, Lisa).
Both Emoto’s experiment and The Secret reveal the same information about a power that cannot be matched. The mind can transform the simplest of things like water to the most complex things like your life. Emoto’s findings show that thoughts can change water to fit what feeling the water was introduced to. This goes hand in hand with the Secret because when we feel happiness our whole body feels happy and good events occur, but as we can see with the experiment, when horrendous feelings are felt the events to follow turn grim. The Secret says basically the same thing, when you are feeling up and at em’ your life is good, and nothing can go wrong, “It’s really important that you feel good, because this feeling good is what goes out as a signal into the universe and starts to attract more of itself to you” (Vitale, Joe). However when things go bad, it’s like quicksand, one thing goes bad, the next things goes worse, all until you are consumed by the quicksand. Both of these sources come from highly educated people in this area, they both believe that your emotions send off vibrations that can affect the things around.
The Secret and Emoto’s research are almost identical in theory, except that all Emoto has been tested on is water. However this simple experiment has basically proven that the Secret can work and is working every day. Our water-infested bodies are being affected right now by our thoughts, actions, and feelings, both the righteous and awful. Each one causing another event to occur down the path of good or bad. Whether you believe in it or not the law of attraction is working, it’s causing everything around you to happen. It is the deciding factor in whether you will be prosperous or if you will continue to wallow in the hole you have dug. For one I believe the Secret and that Emoto’s research is a great breakthrough in the way we view our lives. “We are all connected . . . There isn’t an “out there” and an “in here.” Everything in the universe is connected. It is just one energy field” (Assaraf, John)
